Botanical name:


Vigna trilobata (syn. Dolichos trilobatus, Phaseolus trilobatus, P. trilobus)

Uses:


1. Clears Heat:
-Fever
-burning syndrome
-Cough, Bronchitis
-Wound inflammation; poisoning from Rat Bite
-obstinate skin diseases including Eczema, Leprosy

2. Clears Damp-Heat:
-Gout
-Leukorrhea

3. Rasayana:
-deficiency; phthisis
-regarded as a sex tonic
-one of the Jivaniya (life-promoting) herbs of Charaka.
-Seed is most used for this function

4. Kills Worms:
-Worm infestation
-Parasites
