Cut the nuts, then beat them; separately beat the herbs and seeds to powder; sieve and mix the powders together. Add a little mucilage of Psyllium and/or Hydromel to form a stiff paste; roll, cut and dry in the sun

1–2 drams with an appropriate vehicle. 3 drams with milk was given for Kidney Ulcers. It was also infused in water, strained, and injected into the urethra.

1. Lemery had a reformed and simplified version: Armenian Earth, Dragon’s Blood, Spodium (Tabasheer), Rose, Myrrh 1⁄2 oz. each, Gum Arabic, Tragacanth, Barley, Myrtle seed, Licorice 2 drams each, Poppy seed, Cotton seed, Purslane seed, Quince seed of each 1 dram.
2. Based on the modification of Lemery, above, Tabasheer can replace the Ivory and the number of seeds can be reduced.
This will not keep long because of the high seed content. To dry the seeds, lessen the oil content and facilitate powdering, the seeds can be gently stir-fried until browned. The formula can be kept whole and powdered as required, dispensing as a powder rather than troches.
