Amount


½ lb. (1 part)
6 lbs. (12 parts)


Preparation:


Digest in a well stopped vessel for 3 days, strain and press out strongly; repeat the infusion with new leaves twice more.

Function:


Clears Liver Heat, Moves the Blood, Resists Poison

Use:


1. Jaundice
2. Inflammation of the Liver or Gall Bladder
3. Gall Stones
4. Headache
5. Hypertension
6. Menstrual pain from Heat
7. Angina Pectoris
8. Bruising, Trauma,
9. Cold, Flu, Epidemic diseases
10. Whooping Cough, Chronic Bronchitis
11. Sore, Red Eyes, Poor Eyesight
12. Regarded as useful for diseases of Old Age

Dose:


10–40 drops in a suitable vehicle.

Modifications:



‘It quickens the Eyesight, cures the Jaundice, and keeps back old age’. (Salmon)

Useful for Inflammation of the Liver and Gall Bladder, Gall Stones, and for Headache, Hypertension etc. from Liver heat. Also Eyes diseases including sore, red, eyes or failing Eyesight.

It moves the Blood and is used for Menstrual pain, Angina, Bruises, Sprains and Tumors.

Celandine has also long been used to resist poison, and is given for Cold, Flu, Fever and various Epidemic diseases. Also for Spasmodic Coughs including Whooping Cough and Chronic Bronchitis.

Finally, Celandine was long believed to preserve from the effects of Old Age, and to promote Youthfulness.
