There are many varieties of tea; a primary difference is ‘green’ (green, white tea) or ‘fermented’ (black, hong cha)

Black (fermented) tea is warm, Green tea is Cool. Bitter, Sweet
Uses:
1. Clears Damp, Promotes Urine:
-promotes urine in edema and fluid retention
-diarrhea
2. Transforms Phlegm:
-helps clear Phlegm
-Catarrh
3. Generates Qi, Clears the Mind:
-Headache, Drowsiness, Lethargy
-‘preserves the body in perfect Health, to the height of old age’. (Salmon)

-good for those that drink, smoke, and eat an unhealthy diet
Main Combinations:
Cautions:
1. Green tea and Green types of tea such as Raw (Sheng) Pu Erh are rough on the stomach, and may cause discomfort or nausea if had on an empty stomach by people with weak Stomachs. Black tea is more gentle on the Stomach.
2. Green tea may also cause nervousness in susceptible people.
