Preparation:


Powder each very well separately, then mix. The stones are to be levigated with Rose water.

Function:


Clears Heat, Resists Poison, calms the Heart and Spirit

Use:


1. Infectious and Epidemic Disease
2. Spotted Fevers including Measles and Small Pox
3. Heat, Fever, Restlessness in children
4. Diarrhea associated with Fever
5. Used to kill worms also.


Dose:


1⁄2–1 scruple for an adult; 6–12 grains for an infant.

Cautions:


None noted

Modifications:


1. Commonly only 1 dram of Bezoar would be added to 1 or 2 ounces of the powder
2. Another version used Bezoar Animale prepared from Deer horn instead of true Bezoar
