Suggested Treatments of MesueMesue (Yahyā ibn Masawaih al-Mardini) was a Syrian-born Physician who died in 1015 at the age of 90. His writings were highly respected, so much so that physicians often referred to him as the Physicians Evangelist for the surety of his writings and treatments. His formulas formed the basis of the early London and European Pharmacopoeias and continued to be used into the 19th century in Europe.
It is therefore worthwhile to investigate suggested remedies and formulas for specific conditions as given by Mesue in Opera de Medica, 1589.
