Preparation:
Decoction
Can also be used in Powder, Pill or Tincture form.
Function:
Moves the Blood, Clears Stasis, Open Obstructions, Eases Pain
Use:
Stubborn or chronic pain of the joints or whole body, maybe with purplish tongue, lips and nail beds, and a wiry pulse
1. Bursitis
2. Tendonitis
3. Joint pain (especially from old injury)
4. Rotator Cuff injury
5. Repetitive Strain Injury
6. Pain from Trauma
7. Fibromyalgia
8. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
9. Lumbago
10. Lumbar Disc Herniation
11. Arthritis or Rheumatoid Arthritis with signs of Blood stasis
12. Neuralgia
13. Dysmenorrhea
14. Endometriosis
Dose:
The above is taken in 3 equal doses over the course of the day.
In Powder: 2–3 grams twice daily.
Cautions:
1. Not used in Pregnancy
2. Not used in Bleeding disorders
Modifications:
1. It is stronger with Frankincense added.
2. Shilajit can replace Flying Squirrel Feces.
3. Centaury can replace Gentiana Qin Jiao.
4. Upper body pain, add Pueraria Ge Gen.
5. Lower body pain add Angelica Du Huo.
6. Moving type pain from Wind, add Saposhnikovia Fang Feng.
7. Strong Pain, add Corydalis Yan Hu Suo.
8. Marked Qi deficiency, add Astragalus Huang Qi.
9. Severe pain from Cold, add Aconitum Fu Zi (or Chuan Wu), Asaraum Xi Xin.
10. Lower Back pain, add Eucommia Du Zhong.
11. Osteoarthritis, add Drynaria Gu Sui Bu, Dipsacus Xu Duan.
12. Pain following Trauma, take with Yunnan Baiyao.
13. For chronic joint pain, use together with Du Huo Ji Sheng Tang.
14. Fibromyalgia, take with Shi Quan Da Bu Tang.
15. Chronic severe pain that hasn’t responded to other treatment, take with Xiao Huo Luo Wan.
This is very useful for chronic and obstinate pain that hasn’t responded to other treatment.
