Preparation:


Powder the first 4 ingredients coarsely, then boil in 8 parts of water down to 1 part. Then add fine powder of the last ingredients (Pippali Mula) to form a stiff paste from which pills weighing 375mg are formed.

Function:


Settles Wind, Calms the Mind and Nerves

Use:


1. Insomnia (primary function)
2. Hypertension (primary function)
3. Dizziness
4. Tachycardia
5. Alcoholism
6. Hangover
7. Also used as an Anti-psychotic

Dose:


1 pill (375mg) up to 2 or 3 pills (750–1075mg), taken with Milk, Rose Water, or Water.
For Insomnia, take 2 hours before sleep.
For Hypertension, take after breakfast and 2 hours before sleep.
Maximum daily dose in adults is 1500mg

Cautions:


1. Avoid overdose
2. Not used in young Children, during Pregnancy or Lactation.
3. Not used in Bradycardia (slow heart rate), Hypotension, Parkinson’s Disease, Depression or Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
4. Not used for more than 1–2 months, although to control Hypertension it can be used for 3–4 months.
5. It may cause dryness of the mouth and Nasal congestion.

Modifications:


1. For insomnia, it can be combined with Got Kola and Pearl powder

This is a strong medicine to treat Hypertension and Insomnia. It is generally well tolerated but should be used carefully, beginning with lesser doses and increasing if needed.
