An important medicine of the Western tradition, Gum Tragacanth has tonic properties like its Chinese cousin Astragalus Huang Qi. It is rich in polysaccharides.

Our Tragacanth Gum is of superior quality composed of large, translucent / white to pale yellow ribbons.

Our Mastic of Middle Eastern origin comes in the form of small translucent tears to coarse powder, typically of pale yellow color. While this is cheaper than Chios Mastic, it is of no less quality which is clearly noted by its resinous, pine-like scent and clear, refreshing taste. In addition, the smaller tears are generally easier to powder.

Gum Mastic is an impoirtant traditional medicine with tonic properties.

NOTE:

Mastic of Middle Eastern origin typically has a small percentage of white and light grey tears, as opposed to Chios Mastic which is universally translucent yellow. This doesn’t impact the quality which we believe to be generally equal to Chios Mastic.

Bamboo Silica

Tabasheer is silica traditionally collected from species of Bamboo.

Our Tabasheer is the Blue-grey variety composed of small pieces.

NOTE:

Due to its high silica content, care must be taken not to breathe the dust of Tabasheer when powdering. We advise to powder in a grinding machine with other herbs with which it is used in formula. It can also be ground to a fine paste with water in a mortar, then dried to add to other herbs.

Australian Sandalwood has the scent of Sandalwood, with a little more spiciness.

Our Australian Sandalwood powder has a high oil content and a delicious scent. It can generally be used for White Sandalwood in formula. In formulas that require the “Three Sandalwoods” (White, Yellow and Red Sandalwood), Australian Sandalwood may be used for Yellow Sandalwood, which is largely unavailable on the market today.

Prepared (levigated) with Rose Water

Premium quality Baltic Amber is finely powdered, ground with Rose water, then dried to give a silky fine powder with an extraordinary aromatic resinous scent. This is far superior to using standard Amber powder, and is far superior to the standard product on the Chinese market.

Amber is used in all Traditions, and was commonly used in the Western Tradition.

Prepared (levigated) with Rose Water

Premium cultured Pearls are finely powdered, ground with Rose water, then dried to give a silky fine powder with a subtle Rose scent. This is far superior to using standard Pearl powder.

Pearl is used in all Traditions and appears in a number of important western formulas.

Shilajit is an important medicine derived primarily from the Himalayas. The name Shilajit comes from the Sanskrit meaning “destroyer of weakness”, indicating its long use as an important tonic medicine.

It contains a large number of trace minerals in a form that is very easy to absorb. It is one of the best health supplements and is especially useful for the elderly, but is used in the treatment of a wide range of chronic diseases, and is a powerful general health tonic.

Few people realize that the majority of the Shilajit on the market, even from premium brands, is extracted with solvents, as the raw pitch-like stone cannot be used without preparation. Our Shilajit is prepared traditionally using decoction of Triphala and contains NO SOLVENT. It is prepared in small batches from premium quality raw Shilajit. In addition, our Shilajit has been dried into masses, rather than kept in moist resinous form. This means you get pure Shilajit without the water content of the resinous Shilajit, which can be up to 20%. This also makes it far easier to powder, which is the form that Shilajit is most commonly used in traditional formulas.

In 2019 I (Adam) had the honor of spending several weeks with a group of Unani Medicine Professors in Kolkatta, India. I took them a sample of our Shilajit. After taking for 2 days, the head of the Pharmacology Department told me it was the best Shilajit they had even seen and requested more!

This is a premium quality Shilajit. You will notice the difference.

Prepared (levigated) with Rose Water

Our Red Coral is 100% beach harvested Pipe Coral meaning that it is ethical and sustainable. Beware that some sources of Red Coral maybe harvested from reefs, thereby increasing its endangered status.

Our Coral is well ashed, finely powdered, ground with Rose water, then dried to give a silky fine powder with a subtle Rose scent. This is far superior to using standard Coral powder.

Red Coral is very important in Traditional Medicine, being widely used in Unani. Ayurveda, Tibetan Medicine, and formerly in the West.

IMPORTANT CITES NOTICE

The international trade of Red Coral is restricted under CITES, due to overharvesting. However, the CITES trade of Red Coral does not include Coral Sand or Powder. This is because the trade endangering precious Coral comes from the jewellery and artifact trade, not powder used in medicine.

However, various countries have different rules. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to ensure it is legal to send to your country. We will not be held responsible if siezed in your countries customs. We cannot refund items confiscated by your customs.

Red Earth is used in all the great traditions of the Silk Road. Our Red Earth is still used in Unani as the traditional “Armenian Earth”.

Our Red Earth comes in a combination of broken, powder-like Red Earth along with compressed masses.

NOTE:

Earth can contain mold spores and bacteria. It is therefore recommended to heat at 100 degrees C. for 1 hour in an oven before using in formula.
