Preparation:


Decoction

Function:


Warms the Lungs, Clears Cold Phlegm

Use:


Cough with excess clear phlegm, a white greasy tongue coat and a slippery pulse.
1. Cough
2. Chronic Bronchitis
3. Asthma
4. Breathlessness
5. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

Dose:


The above is taken in three equal doses over the day.

Cautions:


Not used for Lung Heat

Modifications:


1. Excess Phlegm with nausea, add Pinella Ban Xia
2. Persistent Cough, add Coltsfoot (Kuan Dong Hua), Apricot kernel (Xing Ren)
3. Lung weakness, add Codonopsis Dang Shen, Astragalus Huang Qi.
4. Abdominal distention, add Citrus Chen Pi.
