Uses:


1. Clears Wind-Damp, Opens the Channels, Eases Pain: (TCM, Tibet)
-Wind-Damp muscle and joint pain (TCM)
-Gout, Arthritis, Rheumatism
-Wind and Blood disorders with pain and swelling of the legs and feet (Tibet)
-suitable for Hot or cold types depending on the herbs it is used with; also cases with Blood stagnation
-regarded as relaxing tendons and opening the collaterals (TCM)

2. Clears Heat, Resists Poison: (TCM)
-Cold, Influenza
-Toxic Sores, Painful swellings (internally and topically)
-Sore and swollen Throat or Gums, Tonsillitis
-Tetanus

3. Moves the Blood, Eases Pain: (TCM)
-Trauma, Bruising
-Amenorrhea; regulates Menstruation
-Menstrual or abdominal pain
-regulates blood circulation

4. Benefits Qi: (Tibetan)
-used to restore strength and is rejuvenative
-Neurasthenia

5. Externally:
-Eczema, Toxic sores, Scrofula, Damp toxin
-decoction as a mouth wash for mouth sores, stomatitis, toothache etc


Dose:


Decoction: 10–15 grams
Powder: 2–5 grams
Infused in wine for Rheumatism, Lumbago etc.

Main Combinations:


1. Neurasthenia, take with cooked Egg (TCM)
2. Rheumatism, Lower Back pain, infuse in alcohol and take some daily. (TCM)
3. Stomatitis or Toothache, decoct tyhe root in water, add brown sugar and hold in the mouth when warm.
4. Tonsilitis, Cold, chew a few fresh leavers and fruit a few times a day for a few days.
