Preparation:


Powder; some added 7 parts of Sugar.

Function:


Clears Heat, benefits the Eyes

Use:


1. Poor, weak or failing Eyesight. It both restores and preserves the Sight, and was said to increase Clarity.2. Floaters
3. Beginning stages of Cataracts.
4. It was also used to restore Memory, strengthen the Brain
5. Acclaimed by some as very useful in various Headaches, including those of a chronic nature.


Dose:


Half a spoonful in white wine every morning, or before each meal. If with Sugar, that may be increased to 1 teaspoonful per dose.

Cautions:


None noted

Modifications:


1. Some added 2 parts Fennel seed, and used only 3 parts of Sugar, which is no doubt better in both regards.2. Bates had a more compound version which added Fennel seed and Rue.
