Preparation:


Made into pills to be coated with Cinnabar, each weighing 100mg

Function:


Clears Heat and Toxin, reduces Swelling and Pain

Use:


1. Boils
2. Carbuncles
3. beginning sore throat
4. Pharyngitis
5. Tonsillitis
6. Periodontitis

7. Mouth sores
8. Sore gums
9. Mastitis
10. Swelling of unknown origin
11. Has been used in Cancer


Dose:


3 pills (300mg), 1–2 times daily; It can be mixed with vinegar for topical application.

Cautions:


1. Avoid overdose.
2. Not used in Pregnancy or in children.

Long-term toxicity tests, equivalent to 165 times the clinical usual dose for adults orally administered for 4 weeks in rats, weight gain, blood, liver and kidney function, blood biochemistry and major organs showed no toxicity.

Modifications:


1. Cow Bile replaces Bear Bile in modern times.
2. Synthetic Musk and Bezoar are usually used.
