Preparation:


Decoct until one-third is wasted

Function:


Clears Heat and Toxin, purifies the Blood

Use:


1. Syphilis
2. Chronic Joint disease, Arthritis, Rheumatism, Gout
3. Chronic Heacaches, Migraines, Neuralgia
4. Tumors, Fibroids and Cancer


Dose:


A cupful twice daily; in the management of chronic and obstinate diseases it was taken as ‘common drink’, meaning that it was consumed throughout the day. It must be persisted with for at least 40 days.

Cautions:


None noted

Modifications:


1. It is corrected and made more pleasant if Licorice or Raisin is added 2. It is made purgative by adding Senna

This and similar formulas worked by ‘sweetening’ the Blood, meaning that it resolved acidities and toxin from the Blood, which gradually made sharp or acidic tasting blood become sweet.
