Preparation:


Decoct together, then add Honey

Function:


Clears Cold Phlegm, stops Cough and Wheezing

Use:


1. Chronic Coughs
2. Bronchitis
3. Pleurisy
4. Wheezing from thick Phlegm
5. Asthma
6. Shortness of Breath associated with obstruction


Dose:


a cupful 2 or 3 times daily

Cautions:


None noted

Modifications:


The Syrian Book of Medicine had a variation that used Oregano in place of Hyssop.

This was first mentioned by Dioscorides, and was listed by more modern authors including Gerard and Culpeper.
