Formulas to Aid the Living (1253)
* Prepared Polygonum Zhi He Shou Wu is used.
Prepare a coarse powder. Boil 12 grams with 5 slices of fresh Ginger.
Today it is usually prepared as a standard Decoction with the doses given above.
Nourishes Blood, Settles Wind, Relieves Itching
Skin disorders with Blood deficiency and Wind
1. Dry skin
2. Ecezma
3. Urticaria
4. Dermatitis (Contact, Dru-induced etc.)
5. Neurodermatitis
6. Psoriasis
7. Measles
The above is taken over the coarse of the day in 3 equal doses.
Avoid alcohol, greasy, oily, fried, and spicy foods while using this formula.
1. Severe dryness with itching, add Black Sesame seed
2. Severe Itching, add Uncaria Gou Teng, Cicada Slough (Chan Tui)
3. Skin diseases with Damp-Heat, add Scutellaria Huang Qin, China root (Tu Fu Ling)
4. Skin diseases with Blood stasis, add Paeonia Chi Shao, Ligusticum Chuan Xiong
5. Skin diseases with Yin deficiency, add Paoenia Mu Dan Pi, Figwort (Xuan Shen)
6. Excess Heat with red, burning lesions, add Gypsum (Shi Gao) and Paeonia Chi Shao
7. Excess Toxic Heat with constipation, add Rhubarb (Da Huang)
8. Dry, scaly skin, add Paeonia Mu Dan Pi, Safflower (Hong Hua)
9. Skin diseases in the aged, take with Liu Wei Di Huang Wan
10. Constipation:
i. add Cannabis seed (Huo Ma Ren) and Peach kernel (Tao Ren)
ii. or take with Ma Zi Ren Wan
11. Measles, add China root (Tu Fu Ling), Figwort (Xuan Shen)
