Powder

Function:


Nourish Blood, Tonify the Liver and Spleen, resolve Damp, promote Urine

Use:


Used for Dampness and fluid accumulation due to Blood and Spleen deficiency; Cramping; Palpitations and Anemia; Cold extremities; tongue will be pale and wet, and the pulse slow or weak and slippery
1. Specifically for Abdominal Pain and Edema during Pregnancy
2. Threatened Miscarriage; Unstable Pregnancy
3. Breech Presentation
4. Gestational Hypertension
5. Habitual Miscarriage or Infertility related to Blood and Spleen De
ficiency with Damp
6. Abdominal pain and cramps
7. Anemia with Dampness or Edema
8. Leukorrhea
9. Pelvic In
flammatory Disease
10. Chronic Nephritis
11. Angina, Palpitation


Dose:


3–5 grams twice daily with Ginger tea

Cautions:


Avoid cold food and drinks, and raw foods, during treatment

Modifications:


1. More coldness, or for Palpitations, or for Cold Extremities, add Cinnamonum Gui Zhi
2. Cold and Weak Kidneys, add Cinnamonum Rou Gui (Gui Pi)
3. With Heat symptoms, add Paeonia Mu Dan Pi, Gardenia Zhi Zi.
4. With Dampness and Edema, take with Wu Ling San
5. Dysmenorrhea, add Cyperus Xing Fu, Corydalis Yan Hu Suo
6. Excessive Menstrual Bleeding from Qi deficiency, add Codonopsis Dang Shen, Astragalus Huang Qi
7. Profuse Uterine Bleeding, add Cuttlebone (Hai Piao Xiao), Burnet Di Yu
8. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, add Paeonia Mu Dan Pi, Corydalis Yan Hu Suo, Peach kernel (Tao Ren), Safflower (Hong Hua)
9. Edema during Menstruation from Cold Kidneys, add Curculigo Xian Mao, Epimedium Yin Yang Huo
10. Abdominal pain during Pregnancy, add Ligusticum Chuan Xiong, Mistletoe (Sang Ji Sheng)
11. Threatened Miscarriage add Amomum Sha Ren, Eucommia Du Zhong, Scutellaria Huang Qin and Dipsacus Xu Duan.
12. Habitual Miscarriage, add Astragalus Huang Qi, Mugwort (Ai Ye), Cimicifuga Sheng ma
