Preparation:


Powder It can also be made into Pills of 500mg.

Function:


Opens Obstruction, moves Qi, relieves Pain

Use:


1. Vomiting and abdominal pain from indigestion
2. Stomach Pain; stabbing pain in the Stomach
3. Belching
4. Bloating
5. Acidity with lethargy, diarrhea and vomiting; discomfort after eating
6. Gastritis
7. Colitis, pain and inflammation of the Intestines
8. Bad kan smug po (Brown Phlegm)
9. Acute Food poisoning with pain, vomiting
10. Overeating


Dose:


1500mg (up to 3 grams), once or twice daily in hot water with a little sugar.

Modifications:


1. Some sources list Veronica ciliata in place of Adhatoda.
2. A Bhutanese version of Costus 6 uses 2 parts of Costus to 1 part of each of the other herbs.

This is a useful medicine for combined Hot and Cold disorders. It warms without increasing Heat, regulates Digestion, and restores proper digestion after serious illness. It is also useful after overindulgence and eating too much.
