* Hosta is an important Mongolian medicine, primarily used for Throat diseases.

Preparation:


Powder and form pills

Function:


Clears Wind-Heat, clears the Throat

Use:


1. Acute Sore Throat
2. Acute and Chronic Pharyngitis

3. Chronic and Atrophic Pharyngitis
4. Tonsillitis, including Ulcerative Tonsillitis
5. Bronchitis
6. Ulcers and Sores of the Mouth and Tongue
7. Gum Abscess


Dose:


1.5–3 grams, once or twice daily

Cautions:


1. Avoid cold, greasy and spicy foods while taking

Modifications:


Hosta is a plant used in Mongolian medicine. A suitable substitute could be employed.

Similar Formulas:


1. This is the same as Clove 6, substituting Calcite for Tabasheer, and Hosta for Gentiana algida.
