Bronze is a compound of Copper with 12% Tin. Sometimes small amounts of other metals are added.
Bell Metal is similar to Bronze, but contains 20–25% Tin. In Ayurveda, Bell Metal is prepared with 8 parts of Copper and 2 parts of Tin.

Uses:


In general has the Effects of Copper and Tin Bhasma

1. Clears Heat and Toxin, Resolves Pus:
–clears Heat and Toxin from the Blood
–Obstinate Skin diseases with hard, dry, rough skin, including Leprosy
–special for all types of Internal Abscess

2. Benefits Digestion:
–digestive stimulant

3. Clears Heat, Benefits Eyes:
–regarded as an Eye tonic, improves Vision (Ayurveda)
–helps macular degeneration
–Eye infections (Tibetan)

4. Strengthens Bones:
–strengthens Bones and Teeth

5. Kills Worms:
–used for Worms (Ayurveda)


Dose:


60–250mg with Honey

Purification:
1. Bronze/Bell Metal may first be processed as the general method for preparation of Metals (see under Gold Bhasma).
2. Bronze/Bell Metal can be purified by heating to red and quenching in Cow urine.

Preparation:


Purified Bronze/Bell Metal is mixed with a paste of Sulphur and Orpiment (equal in weight to the Bronze/Bell Metal) made with Lemon juice. This is heated in Gaja puta which is repeated 5 times to prepare Bhasma.

Cautions:


1. Not used in Kidney deficiency or Renal Failure
2. Avoid in Anal Fissure
