As noted in the other Albizia monographs, A. julibrissin and A. odoritissima are considered equivalent plants; both have been used as a source in India.

1. Astringes the Essence, Nourish the Yin:
-regarded as a Sperm tonic
-Aphrodisiac; Impotency
-tonic in Tuberculosis

2. Stops Leakage:
-Diarrhea
-Gonorrhea
-also used for Hemorrhoids

3. Benefits the Brain and Eyes:
-used for opthalmic diseases
-considered Brain tonic

4. Externally:
-used in antiseptic dusting powders (Sushruta)
-ointment for Ringworm
-oil from the seeds treats Leprosy
