Other “Black” Aconitum species also supply the leaf


Parts used:


Leaf; collected in summer before flowering and dried.

Temperature & Taste:


Warm, dry. Pungent. Very Toxic

Uses:


1. Clears Heat and Toxin:
-Fever, Epidemic and Infectious Disease (Mongolian and Tibetan Medicine)
-Cough, Bronchitis, Influenza, Pneumonia
-Diarrhea, Dysentery

2. Clears Heat and Inflammations, Eases Pain:
-Headache, Toothache
-in Tibetan formulas for Hepatitis and Cholecystitis


Dose:


1000–1200mg in pills or powder

Main Combinations:


1. Fever, Influenza, with Tabasheer, White Sandalwood, Safflower, Bezoar (Tibetan)
2. Pneumonia, with Calcite, Safflower, Rhodiola, Licorice, White Sandalwood (Tibetan)
3. Hepatitis, Cholecystitis, with Swertia, Gentian, Barberry bark, Safflower (Tibetan)
